Commitment

It’s already been a busy week and as I write this at 5am it shows no sign of letting up. I’ve had to be in London all 5 days this week, a first for me in almost two years and something I had thought was behind me. I’m also set to coach 10 people this week, another high water mark for me. Admittedly some are only taster sessions as I conduct my research into barriers to coaching. However each one requires preparation and adjustment to make their 30 minutes as good a session as can be. There is little time to build rapport and also a pressure to deliver immediately.

Yet it’s also been easier than expected. My “clients” have really done their homework, are focussed on drawing as much as possible from the session and there is already a good level of rapport via twitter and my blog (thank god I made that short film). Already I’ve had some great insights for my study and the clients have reported greater clarity.

Which just goes to show what can be achieved when both parties in a coaching relationship really commit to make change happen…….

There will be more next week about my learnings but until then my question is “what can you commit to change?”
